Tampa Theatre’s free open house offers a look inside the restored auditorium Sunday

Tampa Theatre is giving the public its first chance to tour the restoration of its Historic Duncan Auditorium during a free open house Sunday, October 11, from 1 to 5 p.m. The theater is at 711 N. Franklin St. in downtown Tampa.
Staff will lead mini-tours starting in the lobby, while volunteers stationed throughout the building answer questions. Visitors can also use a new digital guide on their own phones or tablets to see historic photos and information about the building’s first 100 years.
At 3 p.m., retired CEO John Bell will join George Levesque onstage for a conversation about the restoration, followed by audience questions.
The theater says it is wheelchair accessible and offers assisted listening and audio narration devices; guest services can help on site. Questions ahead of the visit can go to the box office at (813) 274-8286.
