Tampa to outline proposed fee updates tonight
The city will hold a 6:30 p.m. public meeting at Hanna City Center to discuss a fee study covering construction, zoning, historic-preservation and right-of-way services.

Tampa residents planning permits, renovations or other development work could see higher city fees next year if the proposal moves forward. The city will present the study at 6:30 p.m. tonight at Hanna City Center, 2555 E. Hanna Ave., and says the review covers construction services, zoning, historic preservation and right-of-way work. Officials also say the study is meant to guide future decisions, not automatically push every fee to the full calculated amount.
What the city says is changing
The city says some of these fees have gone years without updates: Construction Services was last updated in 2009, zoning in 2006, historic preservation in 2000 and right-of-way in 2006. Under the proposal, Construction Services fees would rise over five years, zoning and historic-preservation fees over three years, and the right-of-way schedule would be set up for summer 2027 implementation.
How to follow up
If the changes are approved, the city says the proposed effective date is March 1, 2027. Residents can send comments or questions to dgmfeestudy@tampagov.net.
